Green-headed Ant - Rhytidoponera metallica

Subfamily Ponerinae

Body length 10mm 

 

This ant look very similar to the Green-headed Ant, could be the same species. They are black in colour, with metallic purple-green colour on head and body.   

 

 

 

Photos were taken in Yimba Park on Oct 2007. The ant was foraging on leaves.
